Beijing, one of the major transportation hubs in China, makes international business more efficient thanks to its cohesive, top-notch transport and telecommunications infrastructure.

Effective Urban Transport

Beijing has formed an extensive, convenient and reliable public transportation network. By the end of 2011, a total of 764 bus routes opened with some 24,500 reasonably-priced buses and trams in operation to serve commuters. In addition, 16 subway lines are accessible with fares priced at only 2 yuan per ride, the most affordable rate of its kind in China (excluding the Airport Express line which costs 25 Yuan), have been put into use to facilitate commuter trips. In addition, there are about 67,000 taxies on the roads to take busy travelers to their destinations.

Effective Regional Transport

Beijing is connected with many provincial capitals and neighboring cities in the country through important state roads, highways and railway links radiating out in all directions. There are three frequently-used railway stations in Beijing, namely, Beijing Railway Station, Beijing West Railway Station and Beijing South Railway Station. Since the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity High-speed Railway, the first of its kind in China, was opened in 2007, more high-speed railways have been built and put into use to highly reduce the travel time between Beijing and many provincial capitals and major cities.

Effective International Transport

International business travelers may find it easy to get in and out of Beijing, as the capital city hosts Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA), the largest and most advanced airport in China. The BCIA, with annual passenger traffic of 82 million, hosts 96 airlines with flights connecting Beijing with more than 200 cities including about 100 international destinations. As the second busiest airport in the world, its aircraft movements, passenger traffic and cargo traffic reached 533,000, 78.67 million and 1.63 million tons respectively in 2011. The BCIA, the first Chinese mainland airport to be awarded the prestigious SKYTRAX 4-Star rating, was named the World's 5th Best Airport at the 2012 SKYTRAX World Airport Awards. The airport, located 32 kilometers northeast of Beijing's city centre, is highly accessible either through taxi, the Airport Express link, or shuttle buses.

First-class telecommunications and connectivity

Beijing has developed one of the fastest and most reliable telecom infrastructures, making it possible for businesses and other users to work efficiently. The city offers direct international dials to more than 260 countries and regions in the world, with reliable telephone lines. Its broadband and 3G networks cover the entire city, and the number of venues offering free Wi-Fi services has increased.

Efficient Logistics Bases

Beijing is striving to develop itself into a major logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific Region. Presently, the city has four large-scale logistics bases: Beijing Shunyi Airport Logistics Base, Beijing Tongzhou Logistics Base, Beijing Fangshan Logistics Base and Beijing Pinggu Mafang Logistics Base.
